We will make the UBC community safer for people (students & non-students alike) experiencing a mental illness and/or an addiction through a number of ways:
1. We will facilitate (and encourage users to participate in) an open dialogue, so that anyone with questions and concerns can come and talk with others in a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere.
2. We will provide support to individuals on their journey to reach mental wellness and recovery in the form of resources, tools, and activities.
3. We will educate our users on current initiatives being undertaken in mental health and addictions by hosting monthly educational meetings, during which leading advocates and researchers in the field talk briefly about their work
4. We will maintain an atmosphere of confidentiality out of respect for all group participants
